Columbus Discovered America....

Now...Columbus day may not be known for it's fun, but I have to say this year we have discovered more family fun and been blessed with wonderful weather. Friday was a family fun day at the park, Saturday was full of golf for Michael while I took the girls to the pond to feed the ducks and enormous cat fish. We ended the day with Michael's birthday present. We got a baby sitter and went to the Third day, Switchfoot, Jars of Clay and Robert Randolf family band concert...what a blessing. So much talent in one place. The concert was called "music builds" to help raise support for habitat for humanity. It was held at the Star Light Theatre in Kansas City, since it was an open air theatre the nice weather enhanced the incredible music, but I have to say two weeks ago in the pouring rain at the same theatre we sat and watched "LesMiserables" and loved it as well. The rain only added to the memory of the musical. Last night...to our delight ....the weather was perfect and Third day was amazing. They are the only band I have ever heard live that sound as good if not better than their cd. The message that they share through their music and concert truly touched us! It was awesome.

Today we went to church, then had a wonderful visit with friends here at the house for lunch. They are from New Zealand and are here for the CGSC course at Fort Leavenworth then ended our day going to the "Red Barn Farm" in Missouri and enjoyed a horse drawn hay ride and allowing the girls to pick out pumpkins. Well....we can add Columbus day on our top ten family fun weekends...and we still have tomorrow to go!
